This website is an advocacy resource file for equitable access to language and education in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA).
It is for policymakers, government agencies, non-profits, educators, students, parents, and anyone interested in learning more about inclusive education in the MENA region.
Language in education has been a controversy and still is. Educational systems rarely acknowledge the diversity of language and language barriers students from minority groups encounter, such as students with disabilities and those who are Deaf and Hard of hearing. Students whose language does not fit this system are left behind which most of the time leads to students' dropout rates and illiteracy.
In the MENA region, there is a shift towards a UDL approach in teaching and learning. Many countries, such as Morocco, started adopting a UDL approach to teacher education.
One of the contributions of this resource file is to redefine inclusive education in practice and emphasize the relationship between teacher training as an entity under the government of education in the MENA region and quality education in inclusive classrooms for multilingual students with disabilities including Deaf and hard of hearing learners.

Education stakeholders are teachers, students, principals, counselors in education, government, NGOs, and INGOs working in education; basically anyone interested in a successful education system.
UNESCO (2021) explains related to inclusive education: "The goal of inclusive education is to leave “no one” behind" and that can be through "the equal participation of all children in the educational system" (UNESCO 2005)
SDG 4: Quality of education
To ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning and opportunities for all.
